Joan Burns, the Chief Human Resources Officer of Treliant, is a senior HR executive with over 30 years of experience in financial services, concentrated in private, commercial, and retail banking as well as capital markets and mortgage lending. Joan has a proven track record as a results-driven human resources professional with a combination of hands-on and strategic experience with Fortune 500 companies in the global arena. She has utilized her extensive HR knowledge to support corporate strategy and cultural change management among senior executive groups. She has successfully planned and implemented HR processes, programs, and tools with business leaders to build and enhance organizational capability.

Joan has led numerous HR transformational efforts as a global trusted advisor. She is a dedicated business partner who drives growth through HR strategy, services, and internal communications. She is dedicated to and passionate about making a positive impact at Treliant, by empowering its people through cultural enhancement, digitally driven strategies, and leadership in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB).

Prior to Treliant, Joan has been a senior HR consultant for numerous companies, mostly serving in interim Chief People Officer roles. She was the Chief Human Resources and Diversity Officer at Israel Discount Bank of NY for four years and spent 25 years at HSBC in a variety of senior roles, including Head of Recruitment for U.S., Canada, and EMEA, and Head of HR for Commercial Banking in North America.

Joan has an MBA and BS in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is an active volunteer for Catchafire, assisting nonprofits with HR needs, and with Executives on Campus for Baruch College, mentoring newly graduated HR professionals.
