Washington, DC – November 30, 2016 – Treliant Risk Advisors announced today that John P. Carey has joined the firm’s Senior Advisory Board. John has held a broad mix of senior business, regulatory, legal, corporate governance, compliance, and management roles in major consumer financial services companies, in government, and at a national law firm. As a member of the Senior Advisory Board, he will support Treliant and its senior leadership in providing trusted advisory services to industry clients.
“Business and regulatory strategy must be closely aligned at financial institutions, for successful outcomes in today’s challenging environment,” said Treliant CEO Andrew L. John Carey specializes in addressing banks’ external and regulatory challenges, including enforcement actions and investigations, having spent two decades in senior roles in the financial services industry. Most recently, at Citigroup, he was a member of the Executive Committee and a Managing Director at Citi Holdings, where he oversaw legal, compliance, and control issues for consumer businesses slated for sale or liquidation in South America. He was also Head of Governance, Regulatory, and External Affairs for Citi’s global consumer bank, as well as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Citi North America Consumer Banking and CAO of Citi Cards. He is also past General Counsel of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and served in the Clinton White House as Chief Counsel to the Office of Presidential Personnel. He has practiced law as a litigator for Paul Hastings in Washington, DC.
“What distinguishes John is the scope of his knowledge and experience in matters of bank business, regulation, law, and governance,” said Susanna K.
