Stephen J. Spagnoli, Senior Manager with Treliant, has legal advisory experience in the financial services industry. Steve’s litigation support experience includes work on large mortgage loan repurchase disputes and insurance recession matters. He also has comprehensive regulatory compliance experience in the areas of consumer and commercial lending.
At Treliant, Steve provides support services during the trial and expert analysis phases of litigation. He specializes in managing large file review projects, as well as reviewing and responding to defect claims in high-volume document data projects. Steve’s experience includes assistance with the drafting of expert reports and preparing expert witnesses for testimony at depositions.
Prior to joining Treliant, Steve served as a Compliance Manager with Fidelity National Information Services (FIS), where he was responsible for the direct supervision of lending-related regulatory compliance matters for over 70 global products and services. Steve supported all aspects of the compliance lifecycle, including regulatory monitoring and interpretation, representation of the company in compliance proceedings involving clients and regulators, and final approval of all lending solutions for compliance with applicable regulations. He possesses a strong understanding of banking technologies and has advised on requirements and best practices for a host of regulatory and association implementations, including billing error resolution procedures under Regulation Z, the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) rule, and the Metro 2 Credit Reporting Resource Guide, among others. Steve also practiced law at Gunster in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he focused on matters related to mortgage repurchase litigation and mortgage insurance rescission claims.
Steve holds a JD from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law and a BA from the University of South Florida. He is admitted to the Florida Bar.
