Mike Lightfoot, a Senior Consultant with Treliant, has over 12 years of experience in the regulatory compliance field. Mike’s focus has been on regulatory compliance in mortgage originations. His expertise includes risk management and testing, regulatory examination management, and operations procedures related to mortgage origination.
Prior to joining Treliant, Mike worked as a Compliance Officer and Chief Compliance Officer in bank-owned mortgage companies as well as independent mortgage companies. In these roles, Mike managed regulatory compliance functions across the organization. Mike’s representative experience includes managing regulatory exams, providing oversight of monitoring and testing functions, submission of quarterly and annual loan activity reports, conducting reviews of advertising, managing procedure and policy updates, and leading reviews of fraudulent activity. Mike has also served on numerous internal committees, including Fair and Responsible Banking and Compliance Management committees. Mike has also been a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Committee as well as holding membership in the DC Bar’s Communities including Administrative Law and Agency, Corporation, Finance and Securities Law, and Real Estate, Housing, and Land Use Communities.
Mike holds a BS in Psychology from Brigham Young University and a JD from The Pennsylvania State University Law School. Mike is a licensed attorney with membership in the District of Columbia Bar Association.
