Mary Beth Caudill is a Senior Manager in Treliant’s Corporate and Regulatory Compliance service area, where she specializes in consumer protection compliance. Mary Beth has more than 15 years’ experience in fair and responsible banking, including compliance with laws and regulations pertaining to fair lending, fair housing, and unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices.

Prior to joining Treliant, Mary Beth served as a fair and responsible banking subject matter expert for several regional or superregional banks and nonbank mortgage companies. In these roles, she developed fair lending programs for a wide range of products, including mortgages, auto loans, student loans, credit cards, home equity loans and lines of credit, and other consumer loans. She has substantial experience in reviews of new products and marketing activities. At one lender, she managed successful remediation of a Department of Justice consent order and assisted in developing fair servicing analytics and procedures.

Before specializing in consumer protection, Mary Beth spent several years managing affordable lending programs and first-time homebuyer programs. Her scope included management of relationships with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, state housing authorities, and mortgage insurers. She also has experience with down payment assistance programs and other lending programs to increase homeownership among low-to-moderate income consumers.

Mary Beth has participated on various trade association committees, including as a member of the Fair and Responsible Banking committee for both the Consumer Bankers Association and Midsize Banking Coalition. In addition, she is a past President of the Richmond Mortgage Bankers Association.

Mary Beth holds a BS in Economics and Accounting from Radford University.
