Debra Geister, a Senior Director in Treliant’s Corporate & Regulatory Compliance service area, is a veteran of the financial crimes risk and compliance industry. Her current areas of focus include Paycheck Protection Program fraud and advanced technologies such as robotic process automation for risk modeling and mortgage testing.
Previously Debra was CEO of Section 2 Financial Intelligence Solutions, where she focused on analyzing and detecting transnational criminal organizations in financial systems. She has also worked with NICE Actimize, advising clients on fraud detection and prevention.
Debra has 15 years of senior experience in banking compliance, in both advisory and executive positions, including Managing Director for AML Advisory Services at Matrix International Financial Services, Vice President of Risk and Compliance at US Bank, and Senior Vice President at MetaBank, where she led the Fraud and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Unit. In that capacity, she successfully helped the bank to emerge from a cease and desist order.
Debra also spent nearly 10 years with LexisNexis Risk Solutions. In her various roles there, she worked as a subject matter expert and product strategy lead for the anti-money laundering and fraud business lines. Her work at LexisNexis involved big data and analytics, predictive modeling, product strategy, and roadmap design. She also served 2 years as a Line of Business Manager, identifying new compliance requirements for banks, at Wolters Kluwer Financial Services.
Earlier, as President of Navigator Business Services, Debra advised small business clients on needs including the submission of loan requests to the Small Business Administration.
Debra has a degree in Speech Communications from Southwest Minnesota State University and has worked in broadcast media. She is a frequent featured industry speaker and contributor.
