Washington, D.C. — March 31, 2020 — Alan K. Halfenger has joined Treliant as a Managing Director in the New York office to expand the firm’s offerings for securities and investment management compliance. A former chief compliance officer with over 25 years of professional experience, Alan provides regulatory, risk, and operational solutions to investment companies, traditional and alternative asset managers, banks, insurance companies, and broker-dealers.
“Alan has had a distinguished career as a consultant and a compliance professional, and we will benefit tremendously from his background and experience,” says Treliant Chief Executive Officer B. Scott Fisher. “He will be integral to ensuring we meet our high standards of quality and professionalism as we expand our offerings for securities and investment management compliance.”
“The landscape of securities regulation is complex, and the penalties for noncompliance continue to increase,” says Gino Ercolino, a Director with Treliant and former Enforcement Director with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. “Alan has the expertise to help our clients navigate this challenging matrix of requirements.”
“As an advisor and a former chief compliance officer, my goal is to help clients balance regulatory requirements with the commercial realities of their businesses, allowing them to focus on what matters most: running the business,” says Alan.
Before joining Treliant, Alan held senior positions at consultancies focused on global securities and anti-corruption compliance. Previously, he was the global CCO of Bain Capital, covering their private-equity, hedge-fund, venture, and credit businesses. Earlier in his career, Alan served in legal and compliance roles at several investment banks, including JPMorgan Chase and Citi.
