FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Consumer Financial Services Lawyers Honor Treliant’s Agnes Bundy Scanlan
Washington, DC – May 4, 2017
– Agnes Bundy Scanlan, a Senior Advisor at Treliant Risk Advisors, has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers.
Fellowship in the College is a high honor for lawyers who have distinguished themselves in consumer financial services law. Lawyers are elected to the College by their peers in recognition of their preeminence in the field and their contributions to scholarship about consumer financial services.
“Agnes has built a sterling reputation over 20 years as one of the most accomplished legal and compliance professionals in financial services, and we are proud to see her earn the recognition of such a prestigious peer group,” said Treliant CEO Andrew L. Sandler. “Our clients benefit immensely from the insights and experience she has amassed over a career in both the private sector and government.”
Agnes returned to Treliant in February 2017 after two years of service as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Northeast Regional Director of Supervision Examinations. Previously, she worked at Treliant from February 2012 until January 2015. During Agnes’ banking career, she earned recognition for creating, developing, and executing global compliance programs for some of North America’s largest financial institutions, including TD Bank Group, Bank of America, and its predecessor, FleetBoston Financial.
“Financial services companies and the professionals who advise them have long worked to balance two imperatives – protecting consumers and ensuring broad access to credit,” said Agnes Bundy Scanlan. “Members of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers perform cutting-edge work in this field, and I am deeply honored to join them.”
Prior to joining Treliant, Agnes was Chief Compliance Officer at TD Bank and Global Chief Privacy Officer at TD Bank Group. Her responsibilities included compliance risk management matters involving consumer, insurance, and wealth compliance; privacy and information security; Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)/Community Development.
Previously, Agnes served as counsel in Goodwin Procter’s Business Law Department and as a member of its Financial Services Practice. She has also served as regulatory relations executive, managing director, and chief compliance/privacy officer for Bank of America, which she joined during its merger with FleetBoston Financial, and as counsel to the U.S. Senate Budget Committee.
