Ira Wagner has over 25 years of experience in the origination, design, structuring, valuation and distribution of complex securitizations in a broad range of asset classes including residential and commercial mortgages; collateralized debt obligations backed by large syndicated and middle market commercial loans, high yield bonds, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities and trust preferred securities; as well as innovative asset classes including film receivables, pharmaceutical royalties, sports stadium revenue, and the Master Settlement Agreement payments due from the tobacco industry to the states.
Before consulting for Treliant Risk Advisors, Ira ran Bear Stearns’ Asset-Backed and CDO Banking groups spanning operations in New York, London, Tokyo and Hong Kong. While an investment banker at CS First Boston, he led numerous securitizations of assets acquired by the RTC and managed extensive due diligence, including verification of loan data, sufficiency of underlying documentation and underwriting review.
Ira has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and served as Chairman of the Bond Market Association’s CDO Committee. He has an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Government from the University of Virginia.
